Introducing: Jimmy Brookes (Technical Sales Manager)

IFG Drake would like to congratulate Jimmy Brookes on his promotion to Technical Sales Manager.

Jimmy first joined IFG Drake in 1990 and has since gone on to enjoy success in a variation of roles. Starting out on the shop floor as a Machine Operator he made his way up the ranks being promoted to Shift Supervisor, and then Shift Manager, in 2004.

It was in 2013 that Jimmy moved his way off the shopfloor to our Golcar site, where he took up the role of Production Manager. Having enjoyed 4 years in his new role, another promotion was on the horizon, becoming Site Manager in the January of 2017, and Technical Sales Manager 2019.

Having been with the company for nearly 30 years, Jimmy knows a thing or two about IFG:

“Although we are part of a group, we are a family. IFG are focused on customer service, looking after its employees and developing them. Since the 1990’s and before we have always had a sense of pride in our product and the belief that we are the best in this business.”

In his new role, Jimmy is already beginning to develop customer relationships, arrange site visits and manage his team in the office. His new role brings more customer interaction, a part of the role Jimmy has always enjoyed,

“I have seen opportunities with customers and helped develop our products to further enhance theirs. This has also helped forge some really good partnerships which I am proud to have achieved.”

And so when he isn’t out visiting customers, what can you find him doing?

“In my spare time I have 7 grandchildren with 2 of them being only a few months old. I am a very keen golfer and play to a single figure handicap. Whilst I am also a keen supporter of the Huddersfield Giants, although I don’t get to as many games as I would like.”

A Day in the Life of an IFG Drake Sales Coordinator

Beverley Robson, IFG Drake’s Sales Coordinator, plays an integral role in the day-to-day running of the business. 

Tell us about your role at IFG Drake…

As IFG Drake Sales Coordinator it is my responsibility to stay organised, deal with customers, and keep the sales administration up to date. Although I spend most of my day at my desk, I liaise with customers daily, and one of the best things about my job is the camaraderie between colleagues and customers.

My everyday tasks revolve around processing orders and ensuring that stringent customer requirements are met. Whether it be raising despatch notes and invoices, dealing with customers, or coordinating between production staff and customers to ensure requests are completed.

After working for the company for 21 years, I know the ins and outs surrounding my role. However, when my day involves mountains of paperwork, ensuring current relevant legislation is up to date is never a one-off job. It requires continual monitoring and activity which can be interesting when our customers are so diverse!

I think what makes IFG Drake stand out from the crowd is our customer service and commitment to providing a quality product.
